Zarina Altynbayeva to make her debut, Michał Szpak and Sunstroke Project return: who else awaits the audience at Laima Rendezvous 2025

Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala has long established itself as a truly international stage, where outstanding performers from diverse musical genres, cultures, and countries come together. This year, from July 25 to 27, the festival will once again bring to Dzintari Concert Hall both long-admired audience favorites and exciting new talents whose appearance promises to become one of the highlights of the summer.

Among the returning stars is Michał Szpak (Poland) — a vocalist with a remarkable range and unmistakable personal style, and a finalist of Eurovision 2016. His emotional performance and impeccable musical taste captivated the audience in Jūrmala last year. With a voice that spans an impressive four octaves, and a stage presence that blends expressive power, sensitivity, and true artistry, Michał Szpak brings authenticity to every note. His return to the Laima Rendezvous stage is a reunion with an artist who isn’t afraid to be himself — and who turns each song into a personal confession.

Also returning to the festival is Bulgarian singer Elizabet Zaharieva, who made her debut in Jūrmala in 2024. Her original composition So I’ll Try, performed live on the Dzintari stage and broadcast on national television, resonated widely with viewers and critics alike. A semifinalist of The Voice of Bulgaria (2022), Elizabet has since signed with Virginia Records, and her debut single is set for release soon. A recipient of numerous international awards, she stands out with her exceptional vocal technique, compelling stage presence, and artistic maturity.

Making her highly anticipated debut at the festival is renowned Kazakhstani opera singer Zarina Altynbayeva. A soprano of international acclaim, Zarina holds a master’s degree with distinction from Goldsmiths, University of London (2011). She is a laureate of several prestigious competitions, including the Alion Baltic International Music Competition (Latvia), the Tokyo Music Competition (Japan), and the Montecatini Opera Competition (Italy). Zarina has performed on leading academic stages across Europe and Asia — from Astana Opera and Pergolesi Opera Theater to Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and beyond. Her debut in Jūrmala will be a true gift for lovers of classical vocal excellence.

Bringing their trademark energy to the festival once again are Sunstroke Project (Moldova) — masters of dance music, Eurovision veterans, and renowned showmen of the live performance scene. Their vibrant shows combine charismatic presence with an impeccable sense of rhythm. Frequent guests at Laima Rendezvous, every appearance by Sunstroke Project in Dzintari transforms the evening into a sparkling celebration of light, rhythm, and unfiltered joy. Their return to Jūrmala guarantees one thing: the audience will be on its feet.

Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala, taking place this year from July 25 to 27, has since 2015 been regarded as one of Latvia’s most anticipated summer music events. For three unforgettable evenings, the Dzintari stage hosts performers from across the globe and a wide range of musical styles, offering live performances accompanied by a full orchestra. The festival’s warm atmosphere, high artistic level, and international program make it a unique and integral part of Latvia’s cultural summer.
