The festival lineup welcomes the return of an artist whose appearance has undoubtedly been eagerly anticipated by festival audiences. Olya Polyakova, one of the most spectacular and theatrical figures on the Ukrainian music scene, will take the stage at Dzintari Concert Hall on July 24, the opening day of the festival. Her previous performance at Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala remains one of those unforgettable moments that audiences continue to remember long after the final applause.
Polyakova’s artistic signature is a large-scale show featuring meticulously crafted visual storytelling, a dazzling gallery of stage personas, and a vocal range capable of moving from pop to opera within a single song. Behind her striking stage image stands an impressive academic foundation: classical piano training, a diploma with distinction in choral conducting, studies in pop vocals at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, an opera singing degree, and advanced vocal training under the guidance of world-renowned vocal coach Seth Riggs.
Her hits – “Королева ночі”, “Шльопки”, “Хей, секундочку!” and “Номер один” – have long become an integral part of contemporary Ukrainian pop culture. At the same time, Polyakova is the creator and star of one of the most ambitious solo productions in the history of Ukrainian popular music – “Королева ночі”.
In recent years, Polyakova has undergone a remarkable artistic and civic transformation. In January 2024, she released her first fully Ukrainian-language album, “100% UA”, in which her most beloved songs were reimagined in her native language. Alongside her artistic career, she has consistently and publicly supported her country, carrying out significant charitable initiatives for the medical units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the donation of evacuation intensive-care vehicles for frontline needs. Today, this aspect of her life is as inseparable from her identity as the stage itself.
“Olya belongs to that rare group of artists who simply do not know how to perform halfway. She always arrives fully committed – with her show, her voice, her attitude and her conviction. Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala will take place from July 24 to 26 at Dzintari Concert Hall and is rightfully regarded as one of the most anticipated music events of the summer. Over the course of three evenings, Jūrmala traditionally becomes a meeting place for international music, powerful emotions and exceptional artistry, bringing together stars from Latvia and around the world on one stage.
