Festival “Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala 2025” – a celebration of music and unforgettable surprises

 

The Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala 2025 festival will take place from July 25 to July 27 at the picturesque Dzintari Concert Hall – a venue filled with the magic of music. This extraordinary event brings together world-class performers and beloved Latvian artists, offering audiences unforgettable live performances accompanied by a symphony orchestra.

 

Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala is more than just a festival. Every year the festival is watched by more than 100 million viewers around the world: PBK (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia), Inter (Ukraine), Kartina TV (Germany), Zhara TV (Azerbaijan), RTVi, OK.ru and other channels.

In 2020 the festival will take place from July 24 to 26, for the sixth time. The anniversary season will be the most ambitious: in three concert days the brightest stars and most brilliant discoveries of previous festivals will perform.

In previous years the participants were Chris Norman, Kristine Opolais, Hibla Gerzmava, Filip Kirkorov, Grigory Leps, Mons Selmerlev, Stas Mikhailov, Vakhtang Kikabidze, Xenia Sidorova, Valery Meladze, Elena Vaenga, Nino Katamadze, Leonid Agutin, Semen Slepakov, Maxim Galkin, Andrei Makarevich, Mario Biondi, Uma2rman, Verka Serduchka, Lolita, Sunsay, Manizh, DAGAMBA, Intars Busulis, Renars Kaupers, Vera Brezhneva, Potap i Nastja, Vremja i Steklo, Nani Bregvadze and others – altogether more than 150 performers.

From 25th to 27th July, the legendary Dzintari Concert Hall in Jūrmala will once again host the most anticipated musical event of the Latvian summer - the Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala festival. While the festival brings together internationally acclaimed artists from across Europe and beyond, Latvian performers remain at its core, adding warmth, authenticity, and national character to each concert evening.This year, over the course of two nights, the audience will experience performances by 11 outstanding Latvian artists, each representing a unique facet of the country’s contemporary music scene - from established icons to bold new voices.Intars Busulis - a name that needs no introduction to the Latvian public. A performer whose stage energy defies description. He doesn’t simply take the stage - he commands it, sweeping the audience into a whirlwind of genre-defying emotion and magnetic presence.Markus Riva and the Talsi White Choir, fresh off their powerful victory on the national television competition “Koru kari”, (Choir Wars) will present a specially crafted concert version of their performance. This collaboration has become one of the year’s most talked-about musical phenomena, combining lush choral sound, modern arrangements, and expressive stagecraft. Their full-length programme will be featured on 27 July, the festival’s closing night.Citi Zēni - a six-member boys’ band that has proven Latvian pop can be smart, culturally relevant, and musically sophisticated. Their sound embodies the energy of a new era and the voice of Generation Z, delivered with remarkable precision and personality.Jānis Stībelis - one of Latvia’s most refined and musically intelligent voices. His romantic style and deep, mellow tone are an ideal match for the mood of a summer evening in Jūrmala.Normunds Rutulis - the embodiment of Latvian stage elegance. With his mastery of Latin jazz and lyrical songwriting, he evokes a refined and sun-drenched atmosphere that is inseparable from Jūrmala’s cultural spirit.Framest - an a cappella ensemble of international calibre, known for their vocal precision and intricate arrangements. Each of their performances is a celebration of harmony and sound architecture, constantly surprising with creative reinventions.Jussendo - a vocalist, composer, and producer whose work blends jazz, soul, and poetic lyricism. Her musical philosophy reflects the inner rhythm of the modern city - sophisticated, intimate, and confidently delivered.Dināra Rudāne - a voice of raw power and emotional intensity. She moves effortlessly between classical technique and rock expression, offering performances that are both disciplined and deeply human.Diana Paško - a rising artist whose voice feels like a revelation. Her music is not just performed - it is told, confessed, shared. There is always a sense of truth behind her sound.Marija Naumova (Marie N) - a true icon of Latvian music, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest and a performer of rare elegance and international grace. Her return to the festival stage is both a celebration and a gesture of deep artistic respect.Patrisha - one of the leading voices of Latvia’s modern music scene. Joining the already announced performers are three distinctive artists, each representing a different musical world and cultural background. On July 25, the Dzintari Concert Hall will welcome the virtuoso duo of singer Arpi Alto and guitarist-composer Emil Khachaturyan, while on July 27, one of the brightest young talents in the Baltics - Stefan - will take the stage.Music that touches the soul: Arpi Alto and Emil Khachaturyan The joint performance by Arpi and Emil promises to be one of the most refined and emotionally powerful events in this year’s festival. It is more than a concert - it is a dialogue between two sensitive artists who merge classical vocal training, the freedom of jazz, ethnic rhythms, and profound inner philosophy.Arpi Alto, a singer from Armenia, possesses a rare and deeply resonant vocal timbre (contralto / mezzo-soprano). Zarina Altynbayeva to make her debut, Michał Szpak and Sunstroke Project return: who else awaits the audience at Laima Rendezvous 2025

Laima Rendezvous Jūrmala has long established itself as a truly international stage, where outstanding performers from diverse musical genres, cultures, and countries come together. This year, from July 25 to 27, the festival will once again bring to Dzintari Concert Hall both long-admired audience favorites and exciting new talents whose appearance promises to become one of the highlights of the summer.Among the returning stars is Michał Szpak (Poland) — a vocalist with a remarkable range and unmistakable personal style, and a finalist of Eurovision 2016. His emotional performance and impeccable musical taste captivated the audience in Jūrmala last year. With a voice that spans an impressive four octaves, and a stage presence that blends expressive power, sensitivity, and true artistry, Michał Szpak brings authenticity to every note. His return to the Laima Rendezvous stage is a reunion with an artist who isn’t afraid to be himself — and who turns each song into a personal confession.Also returning to the festival is Bulgarian singer Elizabet Zaharieva, who made her debut in Jūrmala in 2024. Her original composition “So I’ll Try”, performed live on the Dzintari stage and broadcast on national television, resonated widely with viewers and critics alike. A semifinalist of The Voice of Bulgaria (2022), Elizabet has since signed with Virginia Records, and her debut single is set for release soon. A recipient of numerous international awards, she stands out with her exceptional vocal technique, compelling stage presence, and artistic maturity.Making her highly anticipated debut at the festival is renowned Kazakhstani opera singer Zarina Altynbayeva. A soprano of international acclaim, Zarina holds a master’s degree with distinction from Goldsmiths, University of London (2011). She is a laureate of several prestigious competitions, including the Alion Baltic International Music Competition (Latvia), the Tokyo Music Competition (Japan), and the Montecatini Opera Competition (Italy). Zarina has performed on leading academic stages across Europe and Asia — from Astana Opera and Pergolesi Opera Theater to Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and beyond. Her debut in Jūrmala will be a true gift for lovers of classical vocal excellence.Bringing their trademark energy to the festival once again are Sunstroke Project (Moldova) — masters of dance music, Eurovision veterans, and renowned showmen of the live performance scene.
